Activiteitencentrum Gruytveld (in Terheijden, Noord Brabant, the Netherlands) belongs to SOVAK, a non-profit organization which takes care of handicap people. This new building consists of swimming pool, relaxing rooms and sport rooms. It also has a small and quiet meditation room.
The work here can be tough. Some of the residence are seldom communicative but they are very sensitive to the changes of the environment. They can be violent, moody or hyper-active with strong physical strength (I have observe one residence has black and thick hair at his 40s while all his male family members got bald ---real life is tough, huh?) At the same time, 60%-70% of the workers in SOVAK are female. They have to be extremely patient, sober and familiar with the behavior of the residence in order to maintain harmony in the house.
A number of the residence can perform simple tasks and understand the daily life more than others. They are friendly, soft-hearted and curious to many things :) Therefore it is pleasing to see this great activity center will provide fun to their lives addition to their regular entertainments such as biking riding, horse riding and visiting Efteling.
